EDGE Cabinet and Space Creators, established in 2013, has announced the expansion of its scope of services to include comprehensive residential and commercial interior design services to clients throughout southwest Florida. The company, which will now be known as EDGE, will continue to provide its original services, including custom cabinetry, closets, millwork and inspirational space planning.
“We are pleased to have evolved into a multifaceted organization offering a full range of services tailored to suit the unique needs of our clients,” said EDGE co-principal and Diamond Custom Homes President Michael Diamond. “The EDGE team offers hands-on experience and talents melding art and architecture with timeless interior design expertise to bring each homeowner’s expectation to reality.”
Adriene Ged was recently selected as Lead Interior Designer for EDGE, to work alongside Architectural Coordinator Karen Velasco-Carter, Lead Cabinet Designer David Cureton, and Design Assistant Nikole Richards.
Ged, who has worked with Florida’s most notable home builders, has a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Georgia Southern University. With a focus on space planning and architectural details, her projects include both renovations and award-winning custom homes.
“Adriene focuses on understanding how a client lives so she can balance a beautiful aesthetic with a space that is functional and ready to be lived in,” said Diamond. “She partners with homeowners, architects and builders throughout detailed construction processes to help translate a client’s vision into their dream home. As a result, her lifestyle approach to design results in layered, textured, welcoming spaces that exude uniqueness and sophistication.”
“The EDGE team is committed to defining our clients’ visions and providing the best combination of craftsmanship, beauty and originality for each project,” added Diamond. “We strive to produce a comfortable, stylish and functional residence, and an overall better end result than the client originally imagined.”
Lead Cabinet Designer David Cureton specializes in enhancing hand-drawn and computer-aided technical drawings with creative and unusual details to optimize solutions for living spaces. His creations have appeared in luxury residences throughout the United States for three decades. Cureton studied fashion illustration at The Art Institute of Atlanta, and his work has appeared in national publications including House Beautiful, Veranda and Better Homes and Gardens.
Architectural Coordinator Karen Velasco-Carter is responsible for the coordination between architectural drawings and the interior design drawings for all new construction, as well as the permitting of drawings for remodels. Velasco-Carter has more than 15 years of industry experience, including tenure as architectural designer for two prominent design studios. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from San Buenaventura University, is an AIA associate and a certified general contractor.
Design Assistant Nikole Richards has nearly 12 years of construction and interior design experience. She is responsible for coordinating projects, ordering and tracking materials, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining client and vendor relations.
